Our night in the Cocoon Suite was unforgettable. The wildlife tracker’s expertise led us to incredible sightings, like a sloth bear. Dining included delightful fusion cocktails crafted by the mixologist. For couples seeking tranquility, consider visiting outside of peak times to enjoy a more serene atmosphere.

I was excited to stay at this so-called luxury lodge, but my suite’s pool was utterly filthy—like, who wants to swim in sediment? Plus, the lunch menu was laughably limited, as if I were in a fast-food joint. And to top it off, I thought a room upgrade was a given, but clearly, that’s only for the elite guests, right?

The food was absolutely to die for! ! A 3-4 course meal included in the package was just exquisite, and dining with such fresh Sri Lankan cuisine each night made it feel like a real treat. Plus, seeing wild elephants on our Safari, it was like a dream come true!

Solo travelers might find the all-inclusive dining experience a bit lacking since it's designed more for couples. the restriction on walking alone on the beach is a bit tedious—you don’t get to enjoy that natural setting as freely as you'd hope. There are no drinks served on the beach, which feels like a missed opportunity for relaxed enjoyment. Plus, when the park falls short of what you might expect from a typical African safari, it can be a bit of a letdown if you're looking for the wildest wildlife encounters. Just manage those expectations and you might still enjoy the experiences, like seeing elephants.
